Climeworks removes CO₂ from the air to fight global warming and protect future generations to come.
We develop, build and operate direct air capture (DAC) machines which capture CO₂ directly from the air. The captured carbon dioxide is removed from the air by safely storing it underground, permanently.
Founded in 2009 by engineers, Christoph Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher, Climeworks was built with a mission to inspire 1 billion people to remove CO₂ from the air, and is now spearheading the DAC industry globally. It has the world’s largest DAC facility and storage installation in operation and a team of over 450 Climeworkers determined to contribute to a net-zero future.

Your mission:
Job description
– Your mission at Climeworks is to support with tax compliance (corporate tax, stamp duties, VAT and customs).
– You provide support for tax audits and other inquiries from tax authorities.
– You provide direct and indirect tax input on drafting contractual terms and conditions, ensuring that vendor and sales invoice requirements are compliant.
– You keep up to date with direct and indirect tax compliance developments affecting all group entities.
– You support the preparation of the transfer pricing policy and assist Legal with drafting the corresponding intercompany agreements.
Your story:
Requirements
– You are either in the process of completing your bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or business administration with focus on tax law or have already completed your degree not longer than one year ago.
– You have basic knowledge in national and international tax law, including various tax types (corporate tax, VAT, stamp duties, etc.); a good grasp of VAT principles, compliance, and EU VAT law is a nice to have.
– You have a basic understanding of transfer pricing regulations, intercompany transactions, and documentation requirements; experience in this area is a plus.
– You have the ability to drive new topics independently, possess good analytical skills, and demonstrate an open and flexible manner.
– You are fluent in English (business language), with German being an advantage and other languages a plus.
– You are available for a 6-month internship with start date preferably in January 2025.
