At qCella, we revolutionize the way products are heated, such as automotive interiors, wearable technology, and pain-relieving solutions. Position Overview
We are seeking a talented R&D Engineer with a focus on materials science, chemistry and process engineering to join our dynamic team. As an integral member of our Research and Development team, you will play a crucial role in designing, optimizing, and scaling up processes and production of our heating mats and support the development of our product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the product optimization and upscaling efforts of our heating mats
  • Design and conduct experiments to optimize process parameters, improve product quality, yield and increase efficiency
  • Scale up laboratory processes to pilot and production scale, ensuring seamless transition and optimization for commercial manufacturing
  • Manage quality measurements and analyses
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and safety protocols
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies and regulatory requirements to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the startup.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree (3+ years of professional experience are an advantage or Bachelor’s degree with professional experience of 5+ year) in Materials Science, Chem. Engineering, Chemistry, Process Engineering or related fields from ETH Zurich/EPFL, a university or a University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule)
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques, equipment, and analytical instruments commonly used in chemical R&D
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English, good knowledge of German is an advantage
