Who we are

AsyLex is a Swiss non-profit organisation which supports asylum seekers in their procedure by providing free legal aid online. The newly established AsyLex Global team aims to identify a suitable country to establish our online legal advisory with a focus on international litigation abroad. Our activities are mainly financed by donations and made possible by more than 150 volunteers in Switzerland, Greece, Italy, and Lebanon working for free, as well as a small office team.

What you will do

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in this dynamic scale-up project, where we are aiming to expand our international human rights litigation project abroad. You will contribute to establishing an online legal advisory for asylum seekers and refugees, with a focus on international litigation, in another country and in collaboration with partner organizations. This advisory will serve to adequately redress, at the international level, human rights violations suffered by asylum seekers that have been inadequately addressed at the national level. Your primary responsibilities will be to:

● Support with project management and research tasks

● Establish contact with potential partner organizations abroad and build networks

● Conduct stakeholder mappings and support with risk analysis

● Support with writing funding proposals, identify suitable foundations and help with the organisation of events

● Help with the establishment of diverse legal tech tools and platforms on the new asylex.org website

Who we are looking for

You are passionate about human rights and have a profound interest in asylum and refugee issues. Ideally, you have an academic background in (international) law, political science, international relations or in a related field. Fluency in English is required, Arabic and any other language (for example French or Spanish) is a plus. You love to take the initiative. You enjoy networking and are reliable.
