COO at AI Tails

What You’ll Own
– Manufacturing Strategy & Setup
– Evaluate and select contract manufacturers (CMs)
– Negotiate tooling, production runs and per-unit costs
– Oversee pilot builds, QA testing and iterative design for manufacturability
– Supply Chain & Logistics
– Source components: sensors, cameras, PCBs, plastics
– Build resilient inventory and reorder processes across EU/Asia
– Manage warehousing, shipping, import/export compliance
– Operations & Continuous Improvement
– Define KPIs for yield, defect rates, lead times
– Implement lean processes (5S, Kaizen) to cut waste and drive quality
– Scale production from hundreds to thousands of units per quarter
– Cross-Functional Leadership
– Coordinate with Product, Engineering and Customer Success
– Recruit, mentor and grow operations and procurement teams
– Report operational metrics to the CEO and investors

What We’re Looking For
– 5+ years driving hardware manufacturing & supply chain in startups or SMEs
– Deep network of vetted CMs, suppliers and 3PL/logistics partners
– Hands-on experience with quality systems (ISO 9001, IPC, UL, CE)
– Strong negotiation skills and financial acumen for cost models and budgets
– Proven track record of scaling production processes under tight timelines
– Passion for pet health, user-centered design and Swiss-made quality
